5 & 1 Plan

The Medifast 5 & 1 Plan® is designed for fast, safe weight loss. Eat five of our specially formulated meals and one Lean & Green™ Meal of your own.

The 5 & 1 Plan® is for people who:

  • Have more than 15 pounds to lose
  • Do not exercise

This plan is also great for people who:

  • Have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, carefully monitored by their healthcare provider or diabetes specialist
  • Are 65 years and older with fewer than 100 pounds to lose

4 & 2 &1 Plan

If you’re looking to lose weight and need a little more flexibility in your meal plan, the 4 & 2 & 1 Plan, ranging from 1100 to 1300 calories, may be for you. A combination of four Medifast Meals, two of your personal meals, and one snack makes it a great option.

  • Exercise 45+ minutes a day
  • Choose to include whole grains, low-fat dairy and fruit in their meal plan

This plan is also great for people who

  • Are 65 years and older with fewer than 100 pounds to lose

The 5 & 2 & 2 Plan ranges from 1400 to 1600 calories and promotes steady weight loss for those seeking greater flexibility with their meal plan. A combination of five Medifast Meals, two of your personal meals, and two snacks make it a great option.
