How does Medifast work?

Medifast plans for weight loss and weight management were developed to be combinations of our doctor-developed Medifast® Meals and healthy Lean & Green™ Meals. Your Medifast Authorized Provider will walk you through the plan that best suits your health needs and provide individualized care and support, to help you achieve long-term success with weight management.

Is Medifast safe?

Yes. The Medifast brand has been recommended by over 20,000 doctors since 1980. Clinical studies conducted by researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as other teaching universities and institutions, have shown Medifast to be both effective and safe. If I have diabetes, can I still lose weight with Medifast?

Yes! Medifast is safe for individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Medifast uses carbohydrate-controlled plans, and this helps you manage your blood sugar levels while you lose weight. Follow your health care provider’s recommendationsfor your specific needs, and if you have any other medical conditions, he or she will recommend the Medifast plan that is most appropriate.

Is Medifast a liquid diet?

Absolutely not.While we started our product line with delicious shakes, they are just a small part of more than 80 different Medifast Meals you can choose as part of your plan.  And at least once a day, you get to enjoy a Lean & Green™ Meal that consists of lean protein (such as chicken, fish, tofu, and lean beef) and non-starchy vegetables (such as salad greens, tomatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, and many more).

How long does it take?

Your weight-loss phase will be based on how much weight you want to lose and the recommendations of your health care provider. After weight loss, our Medifast plan supports you through transition and weight maintenance, to help ensure that you maintain your success.

How do I pay?

You may purchase some meals and get started right in your health care provider’s office. Check with your individual provider about the procedure. Once you've started the plan, you can visit your provider’s website to purchase your Medifast Meals, which are conveniently shipped right to your door. We accept major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), cash, and checks.

Medifast Customer Service is available weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and weekends 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

What is your shipping policy?

All orders are processed within 24 hours and shipped the next business day. Allow five to seven business days for standard shipping, or three to four business days for expedited shipping (additional charge).

Does Medifast ship to Canada and other countries?

Medifast ships within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and the US Territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. If you are trying to ship to a Canadian address, please visit our Canadian site to place your order. Orders placed on our US site with Canadian shipping destinations will not be processed. For all other shipping inquiries, please contact the Customer Care at (800) 209-0878.

What is your Return Policy?

Medifast will issue a refund of the purchase price on any unopened, unused boxes postmarked within 30 days of receipt. Refunds are available on consumable products and blenders, only; shipping charges are non-refundable. "Free" products received as part of a promotional offer and clearance items do not qualify for either a refund or a credit if returned. Partial boxes, individual meals, and opened, unsealed supplements are exempt from refunds and credits. Credits will be issued only to the account used for the original purchase. Once we receive your return, please allow up to four weeks for processing. Refunds will be applied within 14 days after your return is processed but may not appear on your statement for one to two billing cycles. Customers are responsible for shipping costs to return product. All returns require a Return Authorization Number, which can be obtained from a member of our Customer ServiceTeam at 866-451-9264.

What is your Exchange Policy?

If you are not satisfied with a consumable product you purchased from Medifast, you may exchange it for another product of the same value. Your exchange must be postmarked within 30 days from the date you received it. To qualify for an exchange, no more than two meals may be missing from a box. You may exchange up to 10 boxes per order. Supplements and non-consumable products are ineligible for exchange. All exchanges require a Return Authorization Number, which can be obtained from a member of our Customer Service Team at 866-451-9264.

What is your Package Refusal Policy?

If you refuse your shipment, $15 will be deducted from your refund.

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages en route to us.
